Meet Sophie, Awesome with Data
“The interview was much harder than I expected, and I was hooked! There were 3 principal consultants, and it was obvious they were all guns. I knew right then and there I would learn from them.”
At university I was interested in social causes and studied politics and economics. I discovered I really enjoyed the math and statistics elements in the course work.
After graduating I started my career as a data-economics analyst, but with my attraction to algorithms, I looked out for roles where there was an opportunity to code. I was keen to develop my skills in this area. This saw me transition to becoming a data scientist and then a data engineer.
Out of the blue, a friend who was working at LAB3 reached out and asked me if I was interested in joining him. It was intriguing to hear about the automation they were doing, and while I wasn’t looking for a new job, I decided to explore the possibilities.
At the interview I was impressed by the technical leadership. And then, there was the vibe. Everyone seemed like genuinely good people, and I felt reassured LAB3 would be a great place to progress my career.
I am happy to say things have lived up to my first impressions and I have been learning every day. I am currently working on a large account for a key client and have been pushed technically.
What’s more, I have been impressed by how responsive the organisation has been to feedback from engineers. Any issues or concerns we’ve expressed have led to immediate action, so I feel very supported in my role.
