LAB³ And Microsoft Collaborate To Accelerate AI Adoption In ANZ And Asia

Collaboration Includes AI Centre of Excellence to Pioneer Innovative AI Solutions

The LAB3 and Microsoft collaboration includes an AI Centre of Excellence to pioneer innovative AI solutions to real world use-cases, accelerating AI adoption in the ANZ and Asia Regions for clients (including Clayton Utz, as explored in this recent article in The Australian)

LAB3 has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Microsoft with the goal of expanding the adoption and reach of Microsoft’s generative AI capability to the broader ANZ and Asian Markets. This commitment is intended to transform the way generative AI will be used to produce business value across the region.

The relationship will see an AI Centre of Excellence being established as a hub for pioneering AI solutions and ensuring the responsible use of this powerful technology. Using Microsoft’s AI platform will be central to the initiative.

Founded in Australia in 2017, LAB3 expanded into New Zealand in 2021, and now has set its sights on an AI-fueled expansion into Asia. The innovations from the AI Centre of Excellence will spearhead this ambitious move.

“The establishment of our AI Centre of Excellence symbolises our commitment to AI and innovation in combination with Microsoft’s platforms,” says Chris Cook, CEO and co-founder, LAB3.

And further, “The Centre positions LAB3 as a thought-leader, capable of driving excellence within the rapidly evolving AI landscape. We are venturing to launch an integrated AI capability that combines professional and managed services to provide a longstanding value proposition for our clients and which fosters recurring revenue.”

AI isn’t new for LAB3, who, as an industry disrupter has leveraged AI and Machine Learning to develop and deploy innovative value-driven solutions from day one, more recently leveraging techniques and capabilities such as advanced RAG frameworks, MLOps, and LLMOps capabilities.

“Our proven track record of successfully leveraging AI capabilities for our own business objectives, whilst delivering AI and LLMOps projects for our clients, lends further authenticity in our push towards automation, IP, and collective intelligence versus traditional off shoring,” says Cook.

Significantly, as both a cloud services provider and product developer, LAB3 has an innovative ready-made solution accelerator that provides speed and certainty with cloud transformation. It has been a natural step for generative AI to become a part of the equation, driving greater value for customers building on Microsoft’s core offerings.

“The Centre of Excellence marks a pivotal moment as we continue to use Microsoft’s cutting-edge AI technologies,” says Lachlan White, Chief Technology Officer, LAB3. “Our relationship is geared towards empowering businesses with innovative AI-driven solutions, enhancing operational efficiencies, and driving significant growth. Through this collaboration, we aim to unlock new opportunities, not just for our clients, but for the entire ecosystem, setting new benchmarks in how technology can address complex challenges and deliver substantial impact.”

LAB3 and Microsoft are dedicated pioneers of innovative AI solutions designed to meet the business needs of customers. The strategic collaboration aims to create an environment of confidence for customers looking to introduce generative AI to use-cases within their organisations.

LAB3 has already implemented improvements to its internal business using Sales Copilot, and OpenAI services to maximise customer value and reduce manual effort.

“With their strong customer-centric approach, LAB3 has achieved impressive growth. Like us, they share the goal to deliver practical, impactful solutions, for customers, aligning AI technologies with real business need, and keeping customers at the heart of innovation efforts,” says Vanessa Sorenson, Chief Partner Officer ANZ, Microsoft.

The new AI Centre of Excellence will help organisations use generative AI in a more advanced way to solve complex business problems. The relationship will also lead to the expansion of LAB3 into the Asian market, with LAB3 looking to use its accelerators, solutions, and offerings to accelerate the adoption of generative AI and Cloud in this region.

The LAB3 + Microsoft AI collaboration is already empowering clients including Clayton Utz.
