Chris Cook Announced As A National Finalist For The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024 Australia Program
Finalist Announcement Recognises Entreprenurial Spirit And The Success Of LAB3
EY have announced LAB3 CEO Chris Cook, as a national finalist for the prestigious EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2024 Australia program. Since 2001, the program has recognised ambitious leaders who build and sustain successful, dynamic businesses and reframe the future. The program is the first and only truly global awards program of its kind and celebrates entrepreneurs through regional and national awards programs in more than 145 cities in over 60 countries.
Chris is one of 16 passionate entrepreneurs from across Australia to be named as a national finalist for 2024. The winner will be announced during a Gala celebration event in Sydney in March.
Chris began his entrepreneurial journey in primary school with tadpole sales and tech support and this evolved through a brief e-commerce venture and successful forays into the construction industry.
Chris has seamlessly integrated his entrepreneurial spirit into the core of LAB3, creating a company reflective of his dedication to technology, innovation, and client success. Ever humble in his approach, Chris is quick to point out that being announced as a national finalist reflects the outstanding contributions over the years by the entire LAB3 crew.
“From the outset I have always recognised that I cannot do it alone. The key to the success of LAB3 has been to bring the right people together, who complement each other, and are equally driven.”
With Chris as a driving force, LAB3 has transitioned from a 2017 startup into one of the largest Azure engineering practices in Australia and New Zealand. Serving clients across various industries, including government, financial services, utilities, healthcare, and more, the company has become a sought-after provider of cutting-edge solutions.
“I’ve always got a kick out of building things which people value and this provides me with a sense of purpose,” says Chris.
“What drives me to persevere is how my entrepreneurialism has translated into meaningful job creation and economic growth within Australia and New Zealand, and ultimately the success of our clients and the people and communities they serve.”
Russell Phillips, Partner of EY Australia and Entrepreneur Of The Year Australian Program Leader, said this year’s national finalists bring together a diverse mix of passionate entrepreneurs from across Australia.
“Together, our finalists are a testament to Australia’s entrepreneurial spirit. They combine vision and innovation with action, turning an idea into a successful business – their own work of art,” says Russell.
