LAB³ Showcases Possibilities With Local And Edge Computing At Lenovo TechDay’25
LAB³ Proud to be a Featured Partner at Lenovo TechDay’25 as we showcase our Azure Local solution which Transformed Viva Energy.
As a featured partner, LAB³ will be showcasing our Azure Local solution at the Lenovo TechDay’25, being held in Sydney and Melbourne.
The Azure Local solution extends the possibilities with Local and Edge computing and opens the door to AI for retail organisations with multiple stores, connecting on-premises technology across dispersed locations with Azure Native services for centralised management.
“Once in the cloud, innovation with data and AI is limitless,” says Alan Dang, AI Strategic Advisor, LAB³.
“For a start, real-time data from every store can be used for reporting across every business unit, which helps businesses reduce OpEx costs, improve workplace experiences, improve customer service, and achieve sustainability targets.”
Alan played a key role in the development of the Azure Local solution when a fast path forward was required by LAB³ client Viva Energy.
Along Viva Energy’s journey to become Australia’s largest fuel/convenience retailer, it leveraged the opportunity to modernise the technological environment at more than 800 retail outlets in a 4-month timeframe. The short time frame aligned with its acquisition of the Coles Express and OTR stores. Although ambitious, not only did Viva Energy achieve its goal, but it did so with three technology world firsts.
The Azure Local solution is powered by the combined technologies and expertise of Microsoft, Intel, Lenovo, and LAB³, with LAB³ bringing unique IP and expertise in AI, automation and Azure.
“The development of our Azure Local solution strengthens our technology partnership with Lenovo and our shared goal to achieve business value for our clients in retail and other industries with multiple sites,” says Lachlan White, CTO, LAB³.
“Following the success of the world-first Viva Energy deployment and the development of what is a repeatable solution, attending the Lenovo TechDay’25 is a great opportunity to share what’s possible for local and edge AI with other commercial enterprises.”
Lenovo TechDay’25 is being held in Sydney on 18th March and Melbourne on 20th March, and registrations for both events are full. For those attending LAB³ will be running a racing-themed activation at our booth, with prizes for the fastest Trackmania lap at each event.
